Anti-Doping Regulations are put in place to protect clean sport. An Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) is a breach of an anti-doping rule. There are 11 ADRVs. All 11 ADRVs are applicable to athletes. 7 of which are also applicable to Athlete Support Personnel such as coaches, medical doctors, physios etc.
ADRVs applicable to athletes only:
- Presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers in an athlete’s sample.
- Use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or prohibited method.
- Evading, refusing or failing to submit sample collection.
- Whereabout failures – three strikes rule for RTP athletes.
ADRVs applicable to athletes, athlete support personnel and other non-participants:
- Tampering or attempted tampering.
- Possession of prohibited substances and prohibited methods.
- Trafficking or attempted trafficking.
- Administration or attempted administration.
- Complicity.
- Prohibited Association.
- Acts by an athlete or other person to discourage or retaliate against reporting to Authorities.
